Years ago, my daughter saw a lot on Yahoo Japan and loved the dog and the little brown-haired girl. We picked up 35 cels and posted the ones we liked best. Since then we have added a few more to the collection. We knew nothing about this series until I found this entry at Anime News Network.
So now we know that the series dates from 1993-4, and the character designer, Kei Takeuchi also worked on characters for Mahoujin Guru Guru and more recently, Gakuen Alice.
The story appears to be about a Yakuza boss whose cute little daughter adopts a stray dog. Though Bow is quite a troublemaker, nothing can be allowed to happen to him or it would break the little girl's heart.
